Mukilteo Seniors Association

The purpose of the Mukilteo Seniors Association (MSA) is to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens of the greater Mukilteo Community.
Message from the President
Happy Autumn! Fall…seems to have magically sprung upon us!
After such a long, beautiful summer, it may take some getting used to shorter days, less sunlight, cooler temperatures, and dressing warmer. However, autumn brings its own benefits such as a slower pace, being cozy indoors, colorful changes of tree leaves, great hiking weather, Fall festivities, warm drinks, and too many things pumpkin! Plus, an excellent time to attend an MSA luncheon as well as participate in activities located in our Senior Room.
What a delightful luncheon we had last month with over 50 attendees. We very much appreciate Jane Gong and the North Seattle Chinese Dancers who provided superb performances along with Jane attempting to teach us a few words in Chinese. Arrangements were made with MOD Pizza for lunch and several varieties of pizza along with plenty of salad and fixings. An enjoyable time was had by all!
Our scheduled speaker for our October luncheon is our own Mukilteo Police Chief, Officer Andy Illyn. I’m sure you’ll have a few questions for Chief Illyn.
Many thanks to Linda Blakley, our Vice President, for continually keeping the activities going in our Senior Room. Of course, with assistance from other volunteers who are also there to join in the fun! Feel free to contact Linda with any ideas or suggestions for new activities other than those listed in our current calendar.
MSA (Mukilteo Senior Association) applies for a City of Mukilteo Community Support Grant on an annual basis. We received a text stating that the Committee will score applications and determine funding amounts within the next couple of weeks. As you might imagine, there are more applicants now and less funds available than in years past. We are anxiously awaiting the results as this is a major resource of our operating budget. Fingers crossed!
MSA welcomes your participation - especially in running for one of our Board positions.
Remain kind,
Jim Steinhubel, President
Mukilteo Senior Association
